| Summary: | The following is a critical approach to the chronicles written by Mexican author Luis G. Urbina; research that found its origin in the importance of modernist chronicle as creative and thoughtful space whose characteristics and scope still generate a number of critical works. Both José Martí and Manuel Gutiérrez Nájera and other iconic authors of Latin American modernism, were counted and valued throughout the years. However, Urbina has been relegated to the histories of literature and libraries, suggesting almost no knowledge of his work. This paper discusses some of the texts included in his book Cuentos vividos y crónicas soñadas (Tales lived and dreamed chronic), published in 1915, to contribute to the presentation and dissemination of his work, 150 years after his birth. |
