Izvleček:In México, the Right to Culture is recognized in a solid legal framework; however, actions to guarantee its exercise are limited. Considering that schools and museums are a reference in the promotion of cultural activities for children and their families, this research aims to generate a diagnosis of the museum experiences of basic education teachers in Ciudad Juárez that allows to identify the challenges for the design of mediation strategies between museum and school. For this study, cooperative action research was performed, whose distinctive feature is the collaboration of various people from two or more institutions to solve problems of pedagogical practice through training itineraries. Thus, the personal and teaching experience of nine in-service teachers who perform various functions in different institutions in the city was recovered. It is concluded that the museum appears as a positive recall in the personal memory of the teachers as well as a training experience in the repertoire of teaching activities that allows addressing everything from official content to problems that can be interpreted by students from their contexts.
