Description
Summary:This research was performed to identify factors that determine the monthly current income, others than the agricultural ones, of households in rural Chiapas. An econometric model was developed, where the logarithm of income was the dependent variable and, as the explanatory: sex of head of household, age, age squared, household head completed primary education, head of household with complete secondary head of household with complete high school, household members, employed earners and years of schooling of head of household. The results indicate that both the model and all estimated coefficients were significant and with the expected signs, showing a direct relationship between the dependent variable with sex, age, elementary, middle and high school complete earners employed and the years of study, and inversely related to age squared and household members.
