Description
Summary:The Bourbon military reforms that were carried out in the North by the first head of the jurisdiction of the General Command of the Internal Provinces, created in 1776, Teodoro de Croix, are analyzed. It was an effort to involve the settlers as militiamen from the creation of the Provincial Dragon Corps and derive specific military units from them. The urgency of responding to the attacks perpetrated by Northern ethnic groups and threats from other monarchies leads to approaches that went beyond the perspective of the Northern military tradition.
