Description
Summary:Inventory control requires proper management to prevent delivery delays; management actions should be defined according to the average market demand. In this sense, standardization is a global competitiveness strategy that brings with it the strengthening of organizations' operations, improving their positioning in the markets. Therefore, a system called SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operation Planning) was developed and documented, having as inputs the demand and available inventories, which are processed, to generate the 3M of capacity (machinery, labor, and materials). Six A-rated part numbers were chosen to study the impact of SIOP adoption. The results show that averages and variations in inventory levels were reduced. A general discussion of the findings and conclusions drawn is presented, recommending a continuation for future research.
