Description
Summary:The territorial organization of consumer durables services has become more important due to the tertiarization of the economy of the large metropolises. The objective of this article is to understand the evolution of the microspatial distribution of consumer durables services in the metropolitan area of Mexico City in the period 1993 to 2013 and with it the definition of the trend of the predominant pattern under a theoretical perspective of the central place. The measurement of economic activity was based on the added value offered by the economic censuses at the level of basic geostatistical areas in the study phase. The distribution of this type of service has shown a relative stability in the polycentric configuration where the communication routes and distribution of the population have played a central role for the location of the nodes. Additionally, micro-changes in economic activity were identified which, due to their scale nature, require more detailed studies to understand the territorial factors that generate them.
