Summary: | Divorce rates have increased during the last decades in México. However, research on the topic is still scarce, consequently, the experiences of divorced people from this country is not well understood. Due to this fact, the aim of this paper is to explore the variables that predict the post-divorce psychosocial adjustment among a sample of divorced people from Monterrey, Mexico. Particularly, it is intended to know the differences between males and females regarding the major factors that facilitate their adjustment to post divorce life. The results show that among men, the factors helping them adjust are time of cohabitation and having a new romantic partner. On the contrary, the most important variable contributing to women’s adjustment was employment. These results indicate that well-being in post-divorce life has different sources among men and women. |
