Description
Summary:In this study we identify the competencies of an industrial designer. We mention listings from different international institutions – such as IDSA, ICSID, the School of Design DuocUC from the Professional Institute of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, etc. – that divide the design competencies based on the French focus: area of Knowledge (knowledge), Know-How (abilities and intellectual and physical skills) and area of Knowledge to Be (affective); as well as attributes, abilities and skills of an industrial designer. The data we refer to was provided by different sites and papers, as well as by a specific case study at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. At our conclusion we mention the identified competencies.
